Parkopedia, the world's leading parking services provider, and CloudCar Inc., a Silicon Valley company and leading provider of infotainment services for the automotive industry, today announced a cloud-based integration to enable complete, predictive parking services through the CloudCar infotainment platform. With this partnership, CloudCar is also now authorized to provide Parkopedia’s parking services globally within their platform to OEMs as a fully integrated infotainment solution from a single supplier.

Parkopedia’s full portfolio of services, covering off-street (garage) and on-street static and dynamic data, as well as transactions, ensures that drivers are able to find parking locations across 15,000 cities and 89 countries, see predicted parking availability, make reservations and pay for parking. Through this collaboration, all of Parkopedia’s services are available today through the CloudCar platform.

"This agreement is yet one more demonstration of how Parkopedia is enabling seamlessly integrated parking experiences,” said Derek Rohloff, VP Automotive at Parkopedia. “Backed by our relationships with parking operators and transaction providers, the integration with CloudCar means we are bringing real benefits to drivers, enabling them to reserve off-street parking and pay for both, on-street and off-street parking directly from inside the vehicle."

CloudCar further enriches the user parking experience through justDrive™ X, the future of the automotive personal assistant recently announced at the Consumer Electronic Show, that simplifies infotainment communication using natural voice interaction. With justDrive™ X, the car determines the driver’s destination either after making a restaurant or event reservation, using a personalized profile, from an entry on the driver’s calendar, or from an active navigation. justDrive X will then suggest optimal on or off-street parking options derived through the API integration with Parkopedia. For off-street parking, the driver can reserve and then pay for parking, all without taking their hands off the wheel.

Mark Bowlby, the Director of Partnerships at CloudCar gave this perspective: “Parking is a crucial and challenging part of every trip in a car. Often drivers don’t think about where they will park until after starting to drive toward their destination. Through our collaboration with Parkopedia, drivers can enjoy the drive and the destination and let their car worry about finding them a place to park.”
