Tomohiko has written an introductory welcome post below to his industry professionals.
“Hello all, last year we saw unprecedented restrictions on the movement of people which also had a major impact on the parking industry. At the same time, trying to find a parking space around a popular destination is still difficult and time consuming. Our CEO and founder at Parkopedia, Eugene Tsyrklevich, who struggled to find a parking space around the Moscone Center when attending a conference in San Francisco in 2007, launched Parkopedia to solve this very problem. Parking challenges certainly still exist today and we continue to innovate in providing solutions.
For many years now, our data team in Japan has been building up detailed parking data in order to respond to the growing customer demand for seamless parking experiences in Japan. OEMs around the world are also looking to meet this demand and deliver premium experiences to their drivers. In Japan, Parkopedia already covers over 1000 cities and towns and this number continues to grow with an improved accuracy from our announcement around bringing the data collection in-house. Parkopedia is the global leader in digital parking services that not only provides parking search data for vehicle navigation, but also provides real-time parking space availability information, as well as integrated reservation and payment services. This service will be extended in 2021 to facilitate further vehicle-centric payments which will be a welcome addition to drivers and across the global industry.
Parkopedia combines the data from thousands of parking operators around the world into a single service with unparalleled quality, making it easy for OEMs, location information service providers, and customers to use. Parkopedia and I are excited to have a local presence in Japan and we look forward to sharing our comprehensive experience in this industry.
Thank you for reading, I look forward to connecting and working together in 2021 and beyond.” - Tomohiko Ishibashi
